Are you someone who's scared of how fast progress in AI has been going?

Are you someone who thinks AI will take away their job?

If yes, then you are not alone. There are so many people right now trying to get up to speed on what has been going on over the last few months (I guess even the last few years). A lot of people have given up, too. You see a bunch of posts on social media that say software engineering is dead, etc., etc.

Some of this is true. The world we live in has changed a lot in the last few years.

But the good thing is, it happens all the time. The only thing constant in this world is change.

Yes, as humans, we are scared of change, but the ones who move forward are those who adapt to it. Even I get scared sometimes. I recently left my job to build and explore something of my own, and it does get scary sometimes. But I have to tell myself to keep going.

So what can you do to keep up? I say keep reading, exploring, and tinkering. There has never been a better and easier time to build things. Use tools like Claude Code, Replit, etc. to build things. Use ChatGPT and Gemini to learn new things.

Unlearn old ways of doing certain things. I have been in the Software Engineering domain for more than 10 years, yet I feel so new to all the things happening now. Everyone is figuring it out, so you are NOT alone.

It’s a brave new world we are living in. Get your hands dirty and dive in. It’s gonna be a hell of a fun ride, and I am confident that everything will turn out fine.
